O-Ring Seals Love Vegetable Oil

O-Ring Seals Love Vegetable Oil

Vegetable oil isn’t just for use in the kitchen. Some engine manufacturers recommend vegetable oil to lubricate O-Ring seals. In these applications, if petroleum-based lubricants are used, the result will be swelling and cracking of the seal, leading to a leak.

When vegetable oil is called for as an assembly lubricant by the manufacturer, never use engine oil, grease, or any other type of petroleum-based lubricant as a substitute. Always adhere to the manufacturer recommended lubricants and sealants to ensure a quality, long-lasting repair…  along with satisfied customers.

Be sure to consult the specific service procedures for your truck before using any lubricant.
