Power Window Troubleshooting - The Trainer Video Series
Motor Age -- Imagine the convenience! Just push a button and the window goes down all by itself. This luxury item used to be reserved for only high-line cars many years ago but is now the standard. For years, the window switch had a direct path to the window motor and when the system didn't work, troubleshooting was usually pretty straight forward. Today, though, that window switch may go to a computer instead, requiring the tech to review a little tech info before he even starts pulling door panels.
In this edition of The Trainer, we'll take a look at some diagnostic tricks of the trade to help you make short work of repairing today's power window systems.
Fuel System Testing Tips
Motor Age -- Isolating the cause of a drivability problem often requires quick general testing of the engine's primary systems (fuel and ignition) and of its mechanical condition (cylinder sealing and ability to flow air). In this Motor Age/TST webinar (sponsored by Carter Fuel Delivery Systems, a Federal-Mogul company), we'll show you some of the common problems affecting the fuel system and how to test it quickly and efficiently using a scope, low amp clamp, and pressure transducer. Learn how to assess the health of the fuel pump, determine if the fault lies in a restriction to flow or pressure loss in the system, and perform an injector balance test...all in minutes instead of hours.
ATSG, Motor Age and POWERTRAIN PRO
