Mitchell 1 Wins Two PTEN Innovation Awards!

We were delighted to learn this week that Mitchell 1 has received two Innovation Awards for 2015 from Professional Tool & Equipment News (PTEN)!  The prestigious award is presented annually, to recognize tools that PTEN’s panel of independent judges view as the most innovative products introduced in the last year to the automotive aftermarket.

The ProDemand Top 10 Repairs List feature won for the Repair Information category and the Mobile ManagerPRO extension of the Manager SE shop management software won for the Computers and Software category:

The ProDemand Top 10 Repairs List gives technicians a jump start to a diagnosis and accurate repair by presenting all the data related to the selected vehicle into four lists: components, codes, symptoms and lookups, giving techs a time-saving head start on the best fix for their current vehicle. Mobile ManagerPro allows shops to extend their management system into the driveway and bays with a pre-configured tablet device fully integrated with Mitchell 1’s Manager™ SE shop management system. According to PTEN, “These tools, introduced or significantly updated within the last year, are evaluated based on their ability make vehicle diagnosis and repair easier and more efficient, and make shops more productive.” Entries were evaluated by a panel of judges consisting of technicians and shop owners.

“It’s a great honor to win two PTEN Innovation Awards,” said Ben Johnson, Mitchell 1’s director of product management. “These awards carry special significance because they’re judged by technicians and shop owners who recognize exceptional tools that help service professionals work more efficiently and productively in the real world.”

  • I liked the mobile capability with multiple devices and the ability to share the data throughout the shop and with the customer. Paperless means much cleaner reports available to the customer.
  • The tablet interface to perform customer check-in is a great option. This helps keep aftermarket shops on the same level as OEM dealers.
