OnDemand Version 5.7 Software Enhancements

Software Version 5.7 builds on the landmark functionality introduced in Versions 5.5 and 5.6. Topping the list of upgrades are usability enhancements based on field research and customer input, Canadian parts pricing, and printing enhancements. A list of new and improved features is provided below:

Canadian Parts Pricing - a database of Canadian parts prices has been added to the program. This option is enabled in the Custom Settings dialog box (see below).

Custom Settings - Several additional settings have been added to the Custom Settings dialog box including Canadian parts pricing, Quote and Program Exit prompt display autosave options, and printing options. You may now also choose a preferred to display option for Normal or Severe Maintenance intervals as the default. Refer to Custom Settings for complete details.

Note: The Custom Settings dialog box is password protected. The first time you enter the dialog box, just leave the User and Password fields blank and click OK. It is then recommended that you set up a User Name and Password in the Security tab to prevent unauthorized access to these settings..

Quotes Printing Enhancements - Parts and Labor now display on the same printout, by default. Also, Estimator notes relating to parts and labor operations no longer display on printouts by default. These notes are, however, still displayed on-screen for service writer and technician use. Also user-entered notes still display on Quote printouts. You may restore all notes to quote printouts in Custom Settings. Refer to Custom Settings for complete details. The Quote Print Preview also now includes customer and shop information.

Article Navigation - The right-hand navigation panel in the article screen has been enhanced to highlight (with a border) the currently displayed heading. The index headings also scroll along as you move through the article so that you have a constant reference to your location and the ability to quickly move to a new location.

Additional Usability Enhancements - New symbols have been added to Cautions and Warnings, making them easier to pick up in the article text. Dozens of new entries have been added to the thesaurus file as part of our ongoing effort to add synonyms and commonly misspelled words to our search database. The "Company Information" dialog box has been changed to "Shop Information" to more clearly indicate that this is information about your shop and to provide consistency with Management System terminology.

Autosave Quotes (Save Quote Prompt Disable) - An "autosave" feature has been added for quotes, which instructs the program to automatically save quotes without prompting. Just click the "Automatically Save Quotes..." checkbox in the Save Quotes dialog box to enable this feature. The Save Quotes prompt may be restored in the Custom Settings dialog box. The Exit Program warning prompt may now also be disabled/enabled in similar fashion with this new software release.
