2001 Lincoln Continental - WHACKED INTERIOR LIGHTS by CruisinMiles at Cruisin Auto Repair
This Continental came in for draw on battery, parasite test was a pass. Sat for 2 days and battery was still charged, third day dead as a door nail. Put charger on battery and noticed interior lights were staying on at times, no rhyme or reason. Did a system scan and door switches were working OK but cleaned them anyway. While scanning Drivers Door Module I notice that the Drivers key pad pid was saying that button 9/0 was depressed. Removed keypad and found it full of green death, looks like pressing 9/0 will turn the interior lights on! With button depressed it sends 12 volts to DDM, this one was sending about 3 volts at most times.

2007 Chevrolet Uplander - CRANK - NO START. P1682 AND/OR P2078 by #40Fan at Chubbuck Motors
Found #18 fuse in the under hood fuse box blown. After a little tracking down, found the wiring harness for the intake manifold tuning valve had worn through with the help of the engine lift bracket next to the power steering pump. Further checking showed that the engine cover was pushing the wiring harness against the bracket. Not only does this fuse supply power to the IMT valve, but also key on power to the computer.
After fixing the rub through, I wrapped the harness with extra black tape as well as some split loom wiring cover to help shield from further rubbing.

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan - NO CRANK, NO COMMUNICATION, SECURITY LIGHT ON, NO CHECK ENGINE LITE by tech 1 paul schroeher at Marbles Automotive
Vehicle came in on roll back, battery fully charged, but no crank. customer says had no warning. they thought it was the starter so they put one in. OOOPS! wrong guess. I got in vehicle turned on key, first things I noticed were no "check engine" lite came on and security light didn't go out, but the real thing that got my attention was that all the PRNDL indicators in dash were lit and had the boxes around each letter which told me from experience that we were gonna have communication issues. Headlites worked, horn sounded, courtesy lites ok, HMMM. No scan tool communication at all, I tried 3 different ones. No global obd, noVIN driven, no SCI network no pci bus, nothing. All fuses good no 8v output from pcm no asd relay output, I'm thinking shorted sensor possibly causing buss to go down and shutting down PCM, but no crank condition and security light staying on are not usually part of that so I'm thinking Intergrated power module or the underhood fuse box being green underneath from corrosion so I pop out battery and flip over the fusebox but I am wrong. My next spot is the pcm itself because of its location. caareful examination of all connectors shows connector 1 terminal 29 [org/red] wire which is a b+ was probed and never sealed and corroded right thru. I repaired that wire and to my shock everything went working PERFECTLY. I was blown away all those issues from a B+ wire. the van started, the security light went out, thePRNDL went normal. I am always amazed at what screws up and fixes Chryslers

1991 Cadillac DeVille - FUEL GAUGE ERRATIC AND CAN'T CONTROL A/C - ONE POSSIBLE SOLUTION by sleazen at A and A Any Car
Multiple symptoms. Customer complaint = fuel gauge erratic and can't control A/C.
Additional observed: Fuel data center intermittently displayed lower case "c" or "d"; A/C display would also show "c" when FDC did and controls didn't respond to my inputs. Sometimes A/C would alter fan speed for no reason. Only codes displayed: E47 & 52.
Nowhere could I find anything to explain the c or d in the displays. Thought I was after a power or ground issue under the dash - seemed to get reaction by grabbing loom under cluster. That was coincidence.

2000 Ford Cutaway E350 Super Duty - FORD VAN BLOWING FROM DEFROST ONLY by BLOTT_ at Barstow Tire and Brake
I have done several of these. The vacuum canister for the heater/a.c. System is located in no mans land in the pass footwell area. Mice chew off the line, or it just falls off. Instead of tearing the whole heater box out just to put the line on back on the resivouir, I order a new resivouir and re-locate it to inside the dash above the passengers right knee. I attach it to the metal above the kick panel. There is also a "t" with a check valve that also gets re-located inside. Canister is around $31.00 and the valve is around $9.00. (The old valve may be re-usable if you can fish it out from the top side) if the mouse returns for a snack again, it is much easyier to fix too.
